Indian Artists Who Are Domination Bollywood

The vocalist and frontman of the Electro­Rock band, Pentagram, made his debut as a composer in the 2003 movie, Jhankaar Beats. Teaming up with composer Shekhar Ravjiani, he has delivered a string of melodies and commercial hits and has become a household name.

Bonnie Chakraborty ­

Vocalist of the Kolkata ­based rock band Krosswindz, Bonnie ventured into Bollywood as singer for the celebrated A.R. Rahman in a 2005 movie, ‘Mangal Pandey: The Rising’. He garnered national acclaim for his powerful voice in the song ‘Emotional Attyachar(Rock Version),’ from the movie Dev D.

Guy Pratt ­

Bollywood doesn’t just command the attention of the natives. For the title track of the 1998 movie, Dil Se, composer A.R. Rahman used Guy Pratt, the jazzy bassist who replaced Roger Waters in the legendary band, Pink Floyd.

Indian Ocean ­

This multi­layered, multi­talented rock band was a late bloomer. Their increasing appeal over the masses, especially the youth, prompted filmmaker Anurag Kashyap to hire the musicians to compose the entire sound for his film, Black Friday. The band became an overnight sensation for the hit track ‘Bandey,’ and hasn’t looked back since.

Uday Benegal ­

Enjoying success as the lead vocalist of Indus Creed, Uday Benegal was India’s foremost rock star in the 90’s. After the band split, he got involved in several projects. Eventually Benegal made his foray into the world of cinema, providing his distinct vocals for the song ‘Life is Crazy,’ from the 2008 movie, Wake Up Sid.
